The Latest at Holy Cross

As we are in the Season of Advent, preparing for the birth of Jesus, it is a wonderful opportunity to take a look back at the year and give thanks for the many blessings we have received. It is always fantastic to see the children, learning and growing in the way they do, supported by their parents and teachers throughout the year. It has been a year touched by a strong sense of community through both times of happiness and sadness.

My grateful thanks to you, the parents and carers who have supported the school‟s efforts in so many ways- by attending meetings, workshops, the Listening Assembly and special events, volunteering to work with classes, supervising excursions, singing in choirs, organising morning teas, fundraisers and carnivals, advising on committees, answering surveys, covering books, reading with children to name just a few of the ways parents and carers have been involved.

I would also like to add my thanks to Fr Don, our Parish Priest. As our school community continues to strengthen ties with the parish he has been extremely supportive in providing time for children to participate in the sacrament of Reconciliation, in speaking to children preparingfor their sacraments and engaging with the staff in professional development.

I am sure you will join me in thanking the Holy Cross staff for their magnificent efforts in 2011. They have provided many wonderful experiences for your children this year. As we farewell Miss Simone Crispin and Mr Brock Ellis, we thank them for their contribution to the Holy Cross community and wish them well in their future endeavours. We also wish Miss Meri Hardi well for her travels next year and look forward to her safe return in 2013.

I am pleased to announce the Holy Cross staff for 2012.

We aim to nurture a child’s faith experience, to recognise and cater for individual needs, and to develop special talents, whilst challenging each child to grow, adapt and positively contribute to our community of learners who build, restore and maintain healthy relationships.

Within our learning community, our committed staff and parents work to provide the best educational opportunities for the children in our care.
